Travelling on a low budget in Ukraine is easy. I've done it a few years ago. I'm not sure whether the information is still valid, but if you wanna get a cheap room in Kiev, you should try the Andreyevskiy hotel on Vozdvizhenskaya street. You shouldn't be to picky when it comes to bathrooms, though. If you don't find a room there, as it happened to me, you can always try the St Petersburg Hotel on Tarasa Shevchenka street. I wonder if the street name has anything to do with the Milan striker.
